The President of Madagascar Inaugurated Aksa Energy's Madagascar Power Plant

Aksa Energy officially launched the Madagascar Power Plant, which started its commercial operations in September.

Aksa Energy’s Energy Group President, CEO and Board Member Cüneyt Uygun made statements at the opening ceremony attended by Madagascar President Hery Rajaonarimampianina. Mr. Uygun stated that they are proud to have put the construction of the 66 MW power plant, which is the first and only direct Turkish investment in Madagascar, to the service of the people of Madagascar in a short period of 7 months; believes that this cooperation will be carried forward with new investments.

 "There is no civilization where there is no energy"

Stating that he invited Turkish investors especially to Madagascar, Aksa Energy Group President, CEO and Board Member Cüneyt Uygun said in his opening speech; “We are pleased to have opened our power plant, the first phase of which was completed in September, in a short period of 7 months. This plant will meet the electricity needs of approximately 34% of Madagascar with 500 million KWh of electricity it will generate annually. We attached great importance to the local workforce in the construction of the power plant. In addition to employment, the teams we have established that they have improved themselves alongside Aksa Energy’s expert technical staff. That is why, we are proud to contribute to the standard of living of Antananarivo people, as well as the uninterrupted and reliable supply of energy. We hope that this step we have taken as Aksa Energy will be followed and will be a pioneering investment for other Turkish companies."

 34% of Madagascar's energy needs will be met.

 Aksa Energy's HFO Power Plant in Madagascar stands out as the first energy investment of the Turkish private sector in Madagascar. The power plant, with a capacity of 66 MW, was completed in September and started production in a short period of 7 months. The power plant, which is expected to meet the energy needs of 34% of Madagascar, is one of the largest power plants in the capital Antananarivo.
