Aksa Energy Fully Commissions Its 264 MW Power Plant in Kazakhstan

By fully commissioning the Kyzylorda Combined Heat and Power Plant in Kazakhstan, Aksa Energy has achieved another significant milestone in its global growth journey. The commercial operation of the 264 MW facility marks a new phase in the company’s strategic presence and growth momentum in Central Asia.

As one of the leading players in the global energy sector, with operations across 12 power plants in 7 countries and an installed capacity exceeding 3,000 MW, Aksa Energy has fully commissioned the Kyzylorda Combined Heat and Power Plant in Kazakhstan. The commencement of commercial operations at the 264 MW natural gas-fired facility represents a major milestone in the company’s global growth strategy.

Aksa Energy developed this strategic project under a 15-year capacity agreement signed with the Financial Settlement Center of Renewable Energy LLP (RFC), affiliated with the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This long-term contractual framework supports the company’s objectives of generating predictable and sustainable revenues while further demonstrating Aksa Energy’s robust business model and investment vision in international markets.

Generating Both Electricity and Heat: Maximizing Resource Efficiency

Operating with high-efficiency Combined Heat and Power (CHP) technology, the Kyzylorda Plant will simultaneously generate electricity and heat, maximizing resource utilization. The facility is expected to make a critical contribution to the region’s energy security while also creating significant added value through regional economic activity and local employment opportunities.

Naci Ağbal: “We Create Long-Term Value in the Regions Where We Operate and Support Sustainable Economic and Social Growth.”

Commenting on the commissioning of the project, Naci Ağbal, CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board of Aksa Energy, said: “By bringing our 264 MW Kyzylorda Power Plant into full commercial operation, we have reached another important milestone in our global growth strategy. We consider it strategically valuable to see the investments we have made in recent years transform into tangible production and operational outcomes. The Kyzylorda project is a strong reflection of our approach to creating sustainable and predictable value through long-term partnerships. While contributing to Kazakhstan’s energy security, we are also placing our expertise, local employment capabilities, and social investments at the service of the region. We will continue to create sustainable value and support growth in all the geographies where we operate.”
