The Kumasi Natural Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant, designed with a total installed capacity of 350 MW, is expected to be commissioned in combined cycle mode with a capacity of 179 MW in the first quarter of 2026. The plant will provide a long-term and sustainable solution to Ghana's growing electricity demand.
Cemil Kazancı, Chairman and CEO of Aksa Energy, commented on the development: "Reaching 130 MW of installed capacity at our Kumasi plant in Ghana following partial commercial production demonstrates that this strategic investment is progressing as planned and with high operational discipline.
As Aksa Energy, we develop infrastructure that strengthens energy supply security, creates long-term economic value, and contributes to grid stability in the countries where we operate. This step we have taken in Ghana demonstrates the success of our integrated investment and operation model in the field.
