Aksa Energy announced that Korhan Baykal has been appointed as a ‘Member’ and Seçil Şendağ as an ‘Independent Member’ to the new Board of Directors. With these appointments, the percentage of female members on Aksa Energy's Board of Directors has increased from 25% to 33%.
With these appointments, the percentage of female members on Aksa Energy 's Board of Directors has increased its female membership ratio from 25% to 33%, exceeding both the 25% level stipulated in the Capital Markets Board's Corporate Governance Communiqué and Aksa Energy's target of “at least 25% female membership” set out in its “Board of Directors Female Membership Policy.” This achievement is seen as a reflection of Aksa Energy's commitment to “Gender Equality,” one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Korhan Baykal began his career at Aksa Energy in 2010 as a Business Development Manager and later held various executive roles at Kazancı Holding and its subsidiaries Aksa Elektrik, Fırat Elektrik, and Aksa Jeneratör. Since 2022, he has been serving as a Board and Executive Committee Member at Aksa Elektrik, and as of 2024, he also assumed responsibilities as a Board and Executive Committee Member at Aksa Jeneratör.
Seçil Şendağ is the Founder and President of 360 Communication, established in 2010, where she provides consultancy in strategic communications and stakeholder relations at both national and international levels. With more than 30 years of experience in corporate and social impact communications, she has collaborated with numerous international organizations, including UN Women, on social impact projects. A dedicated civil society volunteer, she was named one of the “Top 30 Global Leaders in Social Impact Communication” by the Women Influence Forum in 2017.
