Aksa Energy Extended the Ghana Agreement for 15 Years

Aksa Energy has signed a new USD based 15-year power purchase agreement with the Republic of Ghana regarding the sale of electricity. With the new agreement, Aksa Energy will accelerate the natural gas conversion that has already begun at company's Ghana Power Plant.

 

Aksa Energy signed a new USD based 15-year power purchase agreement with ECG (Electricity Company of Ghana) regarding the sale of electricity generated from 370 MW dual fuel (natural gas/HFO) power plant in Republic of Ghana.

We will accelerate the fuel conversion in Ghana

Speaking about the new electricity sales agreement signed, Aksa Energy Chairman and CEO Cemil Kazancı stated that they have already started the natural gas conversion of the 370 MW Ghana Power Plant and reminded that the power plant is currently operating with dual fuel technology.Mr. Kazancı underlined that they will accelerate the fuel conversion at Ghana Power Plant following the new agreement and said “The 15-year USD based electricity sales agreement we have signed is the fruit of our successful transition to dual fuel technology at our Ghana Power Plant. We will continue the fuel conversion which we have successfully carried out so far at a brisk pace.”

 

Focusing on Europe and renewable energy investments in different geographies

Cemil Kazancı emphasized the substantial steps Aksa Energy has taken in line with the Company's sustainable high growth strategy and concluded his speech as follows “We will strengthen our consistent growth with the projects that we follow closely in the European market, where energy demand is highly concentrated. As a global energy company, we are also targeting to expand our power generating portfolio with domestic and overseas renewable energy projects and keep diversifying the geographies we are operating.”
