The construction of the Mali Fuel Oil Power Plant, which was started within the framework of the agreement signed with the Government of Mali in 2016, reached an installed capacity of 40 MW in September 2017.

By using the existing equipment of the Mardin Power Plant, the investment cost was optimized and the commissioning time was significantly shortened. The electricity generated in the power plant, whose construction was completed in a short period of 6 months, is sold to the Government of Mali at a tariff determined in Euros over a capacity equivalent to 30 MW of installed capacity under the guaranteed purchase.

As of November 2021, an additional capacity with an installed capacity of 20 MW was commissioned. Thus, the installed capacity under the guaranteed purchase increased from 30 MW to 50 MW. The plant has 4 Wärtsilä 18V38 engines.
