The Tashkent B Combined Cycle Natural Gas Power Plant has an installed capacity of 252 MW with modern gas engine and steam turbine systems. The electricity generated at the plant, which is integrated with the Tashkent A Power Plant, is sold at a guaranteed capacity rate based on the US dollar for a period of 25 years.
The plant operates in a combined cycle configuration comprising 24 Wärtsilä 20V34SG gas engines and 2 Dresser-Rand steam turbines. As part of the modernisation project completed in November 2024, the plant's installed capacity was increased from 230 MW to 252 MW, thereby optimising natural gas consumption and significantly reducing emissions.
The use of high-efficiency gas engines and the reutilisation of waste heat through steam turbines not only increases energy production capacity but also significantly reduces environmental impacts.
