Aksa Enerji has taken its first step in its investment in the Asian continent in Uzbekistan. In May 2020, the company signed an agreement with the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan for the establishment of a natural gas combined cycle power plant with an installed capacity of 240 MW in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, and the sale of the electricity generated at the power plant in return for a guaranteed capacity charge in US dollars for a period of 25 years.
The Ministry Acceptance of Tashkent A Power Plant took place in May 2022 and was commissioned. The plant has 4 GE LM6000 gas turbines, 2 GE Thermodyne 11MC9 steam turbines and 4 Aalborg boilers.
