With an additional agreement with NEGU (“National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan”), affiliated to the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan, a natural gas combined cycle power plant with an installed capacity of 270 MW was established in Bukhara, southwest of Tashkent. The agreement includes the sale of the electricity to be generated at the Bukhara Power Plant for 25 years in return for a guaranteed capacity charge.
The ministry acceptance of Bukhara Power Plant took place on May 5, 2022 and was commissioned, while the installed capacity of the power plant reached 298 MW with the last capacity increase. The plant has 28 Wärtsilä 20V34SG engines, 2 Skoda-Jinma steam turbines and 28 OKA boilers.
